About:
Nine producers, eight men and one woman, who grow several varieties at their respective farms, contributed their smaller volume Gesha harvests to build this washed community micro blend. Thi s informal group of farmers live and work across three veredas or townships in the municipality of Garzón, specifically located on the western foothills of the southern tip of the Cordillera Oriental, the widest of the three mountain ranges that make up the Andes, two of which run parallel right through the department of Huila.
These three rural communities s it right out s ide and within the nature reserve, which is notable for its geographic location as it is situated right on the border with the department of Caquetá and because it is partially made up of páramo, an alpine tundra- like ecosystem only found in parts of the Andes. Páramo is a high mountain biome that its above the timberline but below the snowline. Osito’s main lab and headquarters are also in the municipality of Garzón although in the town center.
